凶兽，即不详之兽，是指强悍无匹的动物。古人相信凶兽出现时，会伴随灾难、祸害和事故等大事，并且危害人间。
Chinese mythical evil creatures. Ancient Chinese people believed that the appearances of evil creatures would be accompanied by disasters and would endanger the world.

穷奇的故事
THE INTERESTING STORY OF QIONG QI
水神共工率领江河想要颠覆人间 颛顼帝让火神祝融去降服共工 结果共工和祝融打了一个星期 都没打过 一怒之下 共工撞了不周山 导致天河倒灌 危害人间 共工至此就和人族历时三代大战 最后被大禹所杀 之后怨念不灭 变成穷奇。
God of Water “𝑔𝑜𝑛𝑔̀ go̅ng” wanted to revolt against the rule. “Zhuan xu” emperor assigned a task to God of Fire “zhu rong” which is to surrender God of Water to him. God of Water and God of Fire fought for a long time, but still didn’t come out a result. Accidentally, god of Water dashed against “Bu Zhou Shan”. As a result, the sea backflow, the life of mankind were affected. Thus, there was hatred between them. Lastly, God of Water was killed by “Da Yu”. Resentment of God of Water had make him become “Qiong Qi”.

梼杌的故事
THE INTERESTING STORY OF TAO WU
堯在位時，洪水泛滥，民不聊生，堯便派鲧治水，他不听别人的意见一意孤行，只想着用堵的方法来制水，但水却越淹越高，历时九年未能平息洪水灾祸，结果反使洪水更加泛滥。後來堯把帝位傳給舜後，鲧便被帝舜處死，由禹繼續治水的工作。鲧死之后的怨气所幻化成梼杌。
When the ancient China ruler, Yao appoint Gun to fix the flood problems happening in China, he didn't listen to other ministers’ advice, stubbornly uses the blocking way to stop the water. This doesn't help the situation and make the flood worst and it even lasted for nine years.
When Yao pass down the throne to Shun, Shun killed Gun as a punishment of not accomplishing his job. The anger of Gun made him become the monstrous Tao Wu after death.
